Meeting Up with Online Business Friends in Person

A successful business woman who works from home on the internet spends a lot of her time alone with her computer.  In my case I often have one or two social networking sites open during the day, which provides the social aspect of my work at home.  I'm not sitting in an office with people physically, but very much engaged with others online...and from all over the world!

Every now and then you discover a person who lives not so far from you, or one who is passing through your area when traveling, and would like to meet you in person!  Such was the case for one of my online friends who uses the name "Wednesday-Elf".  She is part of a network of crafty working grandmothers who keep in touch with one another and encourage one another.

In her delightful little story "Meeting an Online Friend in Person", you can see how this can happen, and how our relationships with those online truly are deeper and more meaningful than some may think they are.

  1. It is always a joy to develop rich friendships online. I loved seeing the post about Wednesday Elf's meet up featured here. I hope to meet a few of my online connections face-to-face one day.

    1. And I do believe that is possible, I've known some of my online friends for 10 or more years. I'd like to do more of that myself.

  2. I've met up with a few people from Squidoo and it's been so much fun! On the link, her picture wouldn't load for me, so I couldn't see who it was. Anyone I might know??

  3. How nice to see my online friend post mentioned here, Claudia. Communicating and interacting online does help when you work alone from home. And it is great fun to once-in-awhile meet up with those people we've only known through their online work and Avatars. Finally putting a face with a name is fun too. :-)

  4. Ah, how cool it would be to actually get to meet a few of my bestest online co-workers! We all have so much fun together, at times I feel like I truly know my online friends better than I do the people I have personally met. Actually, that may well be true simply because we share day in and day out and write about what matters most to us :)

  5. I think you're right about that....just like when you spend most of your waking hours in an office, actually. Thanks for your visit:-)
